AIC Tennis Tournament - July 1-2


Format: Doubles Round Robin (with a handicap twist)                  

This format calls for each participant to play with as many different partners as possible over two to four 45 minute periods (over two days), depending on how many people sign up. A handicap system will be put in place to compensate for differences in individual playing levels. You sign up individually for this tournament. It is really is a fun-filled format. 

Tournament Details

You can sign up for one day of play (Saturday or Sunday) or for the two days. Matches will start between 9AM and 10AM depending on the number of participants and will end around 12PM. For the more competitive men amongst you, you can sign up (in pairs) for a traditional knock-out tournament. This category will only be played if we have at least 8 teams signed up. All matches for this group, with the exception of the finals must be played before Saturday, July 1st. The finals will be played on Sunday, July 2nd on the Tennis Club de Genève's Center Court in front of a multitude of spectators. Note: The TC de Genève strictly enforces a "white tennis attire" rule.

Tourney is Free

The tournament is free for all Members. Post-tourney festivities take place on Sunday, July 2nd including prize-giving and lunch on the terrace at the Club restaurant (at members' expense) following play (around 12:30/13:00). Non players are encouraged to come and watch the matches on both days and if so inclined to join the players for cocktails and lunch on Sunday.

Prizes

Awards, Prizes and Accolades will be given the the players having won the highest number of games over one day or the two days depending on how they signed up.
