The AIC, in association with the Wharton Alumni Club of Switzerland, co-hosted a Speakers Series luncheon featuring Mr. Philippe Revaz, RTS TV Anchor & Producer. 

Mr. Revaz, who is a journalist for the Swiss public television since 2019, has produced and anchored the Evening News (Le 19h30) on the French-speaking channel (RTS).  In an interview format, Mr. Revaz shared his personal experience as a US correspondent in Washington, DC for RTS from 2014 to 2019, covering a range of topics on American life and politics, notably during the presidency of Donald Trump. From 2007 to 2014, he produced and presented the evening news program (Forum) on Swiss National Radio (RSR). He was also Swiss National Radio's parliamentary correspondent in Bern.  Attendees greatly appreciated Mr. Revaz’s reflections on the Swiss media industry along with his candor and sense of humor.

The AIC, in association with the Wharton Alumni Club of Switzerland, co-hosted a Speakers Series luncheon featuring Mr. Philippe Fleury, CEO of the FER-Geneva.  Established in 1928, FER is the Business Federation of French-speaking Switzerland/Geneva and is an umbrella employer’s organization that defends the interests of 29’000 members including 80 trade associations, multinational corporations and independent workers. In an interview format, Mr. Fleury spoke on the topic of “Geneva’s Challenges and Opportunities”.  Thanks to FER’s prominent role in the local business community, Mr. Fleury shared his perspectives on the macroeconomic outlook for Geneva as well as the vital partnership between the private sector and local government in shaping the future of the Lac Léman region.

As part of our Speakers Series, the AIC hosted a luncheon featuring Viktor Polic, PhD and Chief Information Security Officer at the International Labor Organization, who spoke about “How Quantum Computing Threatens the Security of Your Digital Assets”.  Dr. Polic, who also teaches computer science and telecommunications courses as adjunct faculty at the Computer Science Department of Webster University in Geneva and is a member of the Scientific Committee for Advanced Studies in Information Security at the University of Geneva, shared his technical expertise on this hot topic and stressed how protecting our personal and company digital assets is crucial in light of the growing threats of quantum computer hacking.  He cited examples of how bad actors are using quantum computers to create havoc on the world financial and corporate sectors with the ability to steal billions of dollars and company data.  Attendees greatly appreciated his deep insights into this topical subject as well as his ability to explain quantum computing in an easy-to-understand manner.

As part of our Professionals & Entrepreneurs Series, the AIC hosted an evening networking event that took place at the historic L'Auberge de la Mère Royaume, one of the oldest restaurants in Switzerland.  Dr. Eleanor T. Khonje gave a motivational talk on the fascinating topic of “Building a Fulfilling and Significant Life: Making Every Day and Moment Count”.  A sociologist, working and researching at the intersection of gender, leadership, and empowerment, Dr. Khonje is a Professor at the Business School Lausanne (BSL) and is the Founder and CEO of ETK Leadership Solutions, a leadership training and communications firm driven to build a new generation of leaders who walk authentically in the totality of whom they were meant and dare to be.  Dr. Khonje shared her personal insights on the topic, including examples from her own life.  Participants greatly appreciated her expertise and the lively discussion, including her willingness to answer all questions during this truly inspirational event.
