On 7 February 2024, the American International Club Speakers luncheon featured a Q&A session with Ms. Helen Budliger Artieda, the Secretary of State of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

SECO is the federal government's center of expertise for all core issues relating to economic policy, such as trade, development, labor and tourism.

Ms. Budliger Artieda has a rich experience in international trade and economic policy, having served in various positions in the Swiss government, including several roles as Ambassador. She shared her insights on the current and future challenges and opportunities for Switzerland in the areas of free trade agreements, taxation, regulation, and industrial development.

The event was moderated by Philippe Monnier, a business entrepreneur and representative of the Wharton Alumni Club of Switzerland who co-hosted the event. The participants, who numbered over 50, enjoyed the lively and informative discussion and asked many questions on topics of interest.
