Venture Capital: Technology Investing in Switzerland and Abroad

Featuring Pär Lange, Investment Partner of Swisscom Ventures and Michèle Ollier, Partner & Co-founder of Medicxi

 

Michèle Ollier

Dr. Michèle Ollier is the Partner and Co-founder of Medicxi, a life science investment firm. Prior to forming Medicxi in 2016, Michèle was a Partner at Index Ventures for ten years. She has led investments in, and continues to serve on the boards of, several leading biotech companies.

Prior to joining Index, Michèle was Investment Director at Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners in Paris for three years. Before that, she spent more than fifteen years in several development and marketing positions at Sanofi International, BMS, RPR/ Gencell/ Aventis International and Serono International. 

She currently serves on the board of directors of Ipsen Pharmaceuticals. She also sits on the investment committees of the accelerator and technology transfer companies of Paris-Saclay and France-Nord. She advises the Robertson Therapeutic Development Fund at the Rockfeller University in New York City.

Michèle earned an MD from Paris-Ouest University.

Pär Lange

Pär Lange has been active as a Venture Capital Investor over the last fifteen years, focusing on Communication Technology, Software and Internet investments. He is an Investment Director at Swisscom Ventures, a group he co-founded when joining in 2005. During his tenure at Swisscom Ventures, Pär has played a leading role in growing the portfolio and successfully exiting some of his portfolio companies.

Previously, Pär co-founded a Mobile Operator, which was awarded one of four 3G licences in Sweden and backed by investors including Investor AB and Carlyle Group. Following the acquisition of the Operator by Orange, Pär co-founded and was the Managing Director of an Investment Advisory firm focusing on early stage technology investments in the Nordics.

Pär started his career designing radio and microwave solutions, initially for defence application but later as part of the Ericsson GSM radio design team. During his time with Ericsson, he also spent three years in Tokyo conducting sales of Japan’s earliest mobile infrastructure.

Pär holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France as well as an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology. He is also an avid marathon runner.
