The AIC is proud to announce its support of Foyer Arabelle as part of its Civic Concerns initiative.

With a mission to provide support to any woman, with or without children, who is temporarily in difficulty, Foyer Arabelle is the only association in Geneva that provides both shelter and a crèche, allowing mothers and children to stay together. In 2020, the Foyer hosted 28 women and 40 children representing 20 nationalities. The majority of women were fleeing domestic violence.

COVID-19 has put more economic and psychological pressure on fragile families and domestic violence has soared, putting additional strain on womens’ shelters. In addition, the Foyer Arabelle’s rooftop crèche play area needs to be refurbished to meet new security standards. The AIC, in collaboration with the American International Womens’ Club of Geneva, has committed to raise funds this year to contribute to this important project.

With your help, we aim to make a substantial difference in the lives of the children who depend on the crèche for safety, learning and playing.

How can you help?

Starting this June, you will have opportunities to donate at every AIC event, either by adding to the final total of your ticket price, donating cash during the event, or sending us the money via twint and bank transfer. Our annual drive will culminate with the Thanksgiving Dinner where we hope to raise enough funds to be impactful.
