Diversity and Inclusion at the AIC

The AIC vision embraces enthusiasm, entrepreneurship, openness, intellectual curiosity and diversity. In that sense, we take as inherent that all genders are equal and believe in the added value of diversity. As a Club, it is our intention to create events that are interesting and open to all genders, nationalities and ethnicities. We intend to foster an environment where all feel welcome and all can engage in a meaningful way with a supportive community.

The AIC is against all forms of discrimination and as such welcomes all individuals who share our vision.

Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Objective

Our Strategy
- Aim to reach a balance between men and women members in the Club
- Strive for gender balance in the Club’s structures: Executive Committee, sub-committees, Ambassadors’ group, etc.
- Strive to maintain a balance of 50/50 female/male representation of speakers
- Strive to reach gender balance at the Head table and Ambassador’s tables at each luncheon
Designate two “Welcome Ambassadors” at each luncheon to ensure that all new members, particularly those coming from under-represented target groups, feel welcome and supported in their integration into the club
- Encourage the family membership option when applicable

We encourage all members of the Executive Committee, as well as members of the sub-Committees, to embrace and work towards these objectives whenever possible.

Our Key Three-Year Objective:

We will aim to increase female membership in the Club to 40% by the end of 2023. While this objective is aspirational and there are no penalties for non-achievement, it provides a benchmark by which we may evaluate our progress at the end of each year.
