Background : The in the last concert (Concert d’adieux) under the direction of John Duxbury who is retiring after 40 years in Geneva. I have been a faithful patron of Ensemble Cantatio for the past 30+ years. They perform a unique repertory of English Baroque, normally in churches, with an orchestra of period instruments and a small force of singers - normally a chorus of 2 - 4 each of SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), with the soloist coming out of the chorus..... like they did in the Baroque period! The soloist at this concert are some of the best Duxbury has attracted over the years, some who have sung at the Grand Thèâtre.
