Saturday, 26 October

Hikers

Meet at the Number 8 bus Douane stop in Veyrier, 8.00am.
This is an approx. 2 hour hike up to the top station of the téléphérique. There is 650m of altitude gain. It is a hike for those in in good shape who are taking part in some form of cardio exercise on a regular basis. The hike has stairs and rails along the cliff path (safe but maybe not for those with a fear of heights or vertigo!). You will need to be wearing suitable footwear (walking boots / trail shoes with good grip, not running trainers). Please ensure you have appropriate clothing and enough water for the hike.

Téléphérique

For those who plan to go to Mount-Salève by the "Telepherique/Cable Car, meeting time is *9 am at the Bus 8 stop outside the Migros on the ground floor, facing the taxi rank and Tram 15 stop at the Place de Cornavin* to arrive at the Telepherique/Cable Car Ticket Office in France at 10 am.

At the top, once we have taken in the view, there are some opportunities to walk 30 minutes to l'Observatoire and see the parapente jump off! Alternatively there is a small shop and café at the Gare Superior where you can enjoy the view (or have a go on the climbing wall!!)

We will then have lunch and then take the cable car back down to Geneva!
