AIC Thanksgiving Dinner Dance 2016 was the best ever!
After last year's success, it was hard to expect that it could get better. But it was!
A lot of credit goes to all of our Corporate Partners, the event Sponsors (Les Facettes, Harsch, Autobritt and Moinat Antiquaires), Tombola donors, the Hôtel Beau-Rivage, and especially our professional office staff – Mary, Maxime, Ruth, and Tanan – events like this are their specialty. As chair of the AIC Thanksgiving committee, I was able to sit back and enjoy the event myself.
Everyone at my table had good things to say about the meal. The entrée of mushrooms in a pumpkin sauce was seasonal, and delicious. The tender and moist turkey portion came with the “must-haves” - mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, and cranberry sauce. Later, there were seconds on all of these.
The excellent wines were supplied from AIC members' vineyards, Hervé Prettre and the Bugnions. Thanks, Hervé, for the bubbles!
Gareth Jones, General Manager Sotheby's, was our auctioneer of five lots that generated spirited bidding. The Tombola included 56 lots! Funds raised went to support the work of Association of Lake Léman (Association pour la Sauvegarde du Léman) to keep our beautiful lake clean.
After the Tombola draw, the Albert-Mark trio got the dancing started. Midnight came much too soon!
It was an AIC night to remember for 150 or so members, family, Corporate Partners, sponsors, and guests who were there.
