Biography
Karl is a relative newcomer to Switzerland, having spent two summers in Geneva during 2017 and 2018 through work secondments before relocating on an indefinite basis at the beginning of 2019. He is an accountant working as an international tax manager with Berney Associes SA in their Geneva office, focusing on US tax compliance and consulting for businesses and individuals.
Karl is from the Chicago, Illinois area and worked previously in public accounting for the downtown Chicago and Oak Brook, Illinois offices of Crowe LLP before relocating to Switzerland. Karl holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree and Master in Accounting Science degree from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Karl is also a US Licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Inside of the AIC Karl enjoys the speaker events, as well as the 4th of July and Thanksgiving events which help connect Americans like Karl connect with US traditions. Outside of the AIC, Karl enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, and visiting new places. He has interests in technology, computers, news and enjoys following international and US politics in his spare time.
