Innovation and Technology in Switzerland

Patrick Aebischer exemplifies Swiss innovation and leadership. Under his presidency, the EPFL became one of the top-40 ranked universities worldwide. He participated in renown projects such as Alinghi (winning the Americas Cup), Solar Impulse (circle the world in a solar plane) or Swiss Living Challenge (winning the US competition for solar-powered houses). His neuroscience research has led to the creation of a number of companies. He is a mainstay in the Swiss corporate community, sitting on the boards of Nestlé, Logitech, Lonza Group, among others, and chairs the Novartis Venture fund.
