The American International Club of Geneva was proud to co-sponsor with the AIC Zürich a visit to Murten/Morat during the weekend of 24-25 January 2025. Participants enjoyed the Festival of Lights in this charming medieval town of Murten/Morat, named the Swiss Village of 2024. We stayed at the nearby historic Münchenwiler Castle Hotel, originally a monastery that was beautifully converted into a modern hotel. Special thanks go to John Moetteli of AICZ and Robert Race of AICG for organizing this special and memorable joint cultural event celebrated by members of both clubs!

Recent AIC Events 19 April 2024 The AIC, in association with the Wharton Alumni Club of Switzerland, co-hosted a Speakers Series luncheon featuring Mr. Philippe Revaz, RTS TV Anchor & Producer. Mr. Revaz, who is a journalist for the Swiss public television since 2019, has produced and anchored the Evening News (Le 19h30) on the French-speaking channel (RTS). In an interview format, Mr. Revaz shared his personal experience as a US correspondent in Washington, DC for RTS from 2014 to 2019, covering a range of topics on American life and politics, notably during the presidency of Donald Trump. From 2007 to 2014, he produced and presented the evening news program (Forum) on Swiss National Radio (RSR). He was also Swiss National Radio's parliamentary correspondent in Bern. AIC 4th of July 2024 Celebration This year’s 4th of July celebration took place at the Campagne du Chateau in Grand Saconnex, under a beautiful summer sky. Two food trucks, the Brooklyn Kitchen and the HotDogFaktory, served up a delicious array of hamburgers, burritos, hot dogs, fries, and more. The AIC offered a variety of soft drinks, water, beer, and wine. Making a popular return was Fanan, one of Switzerland’s top bartenders, who delighted guests with mojitos, margaritas, and his special Sangria from the Bacardi bar, while entertaining everyone with his bottle juggling and magic tricks. A big thank you to Bacardi for their continued support. For the children, Linda Larni and her team provided face painting, bouncy castles, and pony rides. The American International Club of Geneva will commemorate the US National Day with our annual July 4th Celebration, which will take place on the actual date starting at 6:00pm at Grand Saconnex's Place de Fête de la Champagne du Château. The AIC has a long history of celebrating July 4th dating back to 1962. Ever since then, July 4th has become an fixture in the Club's calendar as it represents one of the two major American holidays, along with Thanksgiving, that we celebrate annually as AIC signature events. July 4th also represents the AIC's most popular activity as we typically have over 300 attendees who enjoy this family-friendly gathering in a relaxed outdoor setting. On 7 December 2023 the AIC hosted a speakers luncheon featuring Mr. Roland Armbruster, CEO of Manor AG. The Manor Group, Switzerland's largest department-store chain with headquarters in Basel and 7'900 employees.
The Club welcomed Ambassador Scott Miller, the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Swiss Confederation and to the Principality of Liechtenstein, on August 31 at the Hôtel Métropole in Geneva. Ambassador Miller arrived in Switzerland in January of this year. His mission has been directly impacted by the war in Ukraine, and he is therefore focused on working with the Swiss government to further financial sanctions against Russia. One of his key priorities is to secure the interests of US citizens in Switzerland, including their health and safety. There are between 35,000 and 80,000 US citizens living in Switzerland and 1 million US tourists visiting Switzerland every year.
